Temporary site relocation
As of now I am on the road heading southbound in Namibia for my new temporary site. I don’t know how many of you are aware what is happening here or how publicized the floods are in northern Namibia, but the rains have been pretty heavy for the last few weeks and the flood water from Angola is heading south. I did not even realize it but I was practically cut off from the rest of Namibia because the roads in and out of my village had been washed away. Peace Corps did come to pick me up on the other side of the water and I was taken to a hotel for the last couple of nights with the other volunteers from the North. Because the floods will probably not be going away anytime soon we are being moved to other volunteers sites in the south where there is not the same extent of flooding.
I will be accessible via internet because I will be in a town so I will update my blog with more stories to come. A lot has happened in the last month, though with limited network connection it has made it difficult to regularly update. I guess the gist of this post is to tell you not worry because I am safe and being taken care of here in Namibia.

Hi Lindsey,
Thank you for keeping us all updated. I am so grateful that you and the other volunteers are safe. I hope everyone’s host families and the other people are safe too.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Glad to hear you are safe! Do you think they will hold any mail for you or with the rains, would you say mail is not going to make it to your school?
We are glad to hear the news and that you and others are being move. We will keep you and your family on our prayer list. Looking forward to hearing how the adventure goes.
Love you,
Meema and Pop
I am glad to hear that you are safe. I will hold off sending anything out until the situation settles. We are thinking of you daily and hoping that you stay safe in Namibia.
Well, for the record, no I didn’t no that Namibia was underwater. All the same, it is good to find that you’re alright. Also that you have better communications now. Please be sure to make use of it!
